Activities

Under construction

A large set of activities can be envisaged for the Network. Hereby follows a broad list of potential activities that can be implemented. The list of activities can be added or shortened, it will be up to the management structure of the network to decide upon which activities to implement.

  • Policy observatory
A special working group could be set up in order to identify and develop tools to assess the openness level of the regional/national innovation governance, from different and complementary perspectives. Perspectives that can be looked into includes:
    • Assessment of structures and institutions such as Knowledge providers, companies, and interface organisations. Limits and barriers to further Open Innovation approaches from their point of views might also be identified.
    • Assessment of Policy Frameworks for Open Innovation might be carried out by a Mapping exercise on Research and Innovation Policies and on main framework policies (Labour, Education, Social policies,…) enabling or hindering Open Innovation.
  • Best Practice dissemination and exchange
Regional Best Practice cases will be identified and published on the webpage of the Network as well as highlighted in news bulletin that will be sent out by e-mail to the members
  • Companies and Universities Joint Knowledge Development
Workshops will be organised for companies and for research actors in order to develop joint ideas and development project. The aim is to overcome the idea that research actors are the sole knowledge generators so that they can embrace a more strategic role in the definition of joint research projects together with companies.
  • Development of Joint Policy initiatives
Workshops might be organised for regional authorities in order to identify common areas of interest where Joint Policy Initiatives could be developed. The aim is to open up the regional perspective of innovation support measures and to design joint support measures.
  • Workshop on latest research
Once a year a workshop might be held where researchers can present the latest findings and states of the art in Open Innovation research. The workshops might focus on the presentation of new tools and practices as well as impact assessment of policies.
  • Innovation Brokers/Scouts Database & Marketplace
This activity aims at highlighting ideas and innovations that have not been developed and exploited to their full potential. Innovation Brokers/ Scouts that have identified such ideas with unexploited potential can publish them on a database in order to find collaboration partners in order to develop and pursue the development of the idea.
  • IPR Database & Marketplace
IPRs that have not been used yet are identified and described in a database. Once a year an “auction” is organised where IPRs can be bought for further exploitation.
